Seven teams competed in the SAISA Open regatta at Lake Crabtree on Nov. 12, 2016. Twelve races were completed in winds 6-12 knots with extremely tight racing on the windward leeward course all day. Excellent sportsmanship was displayed with teams doing their circles on the water to resolve any rule violations. Per the expected forecast, the wind started at 9-12 knots out of the NE to get the regatta off to a smooth start. During the first B rotation, the wind shifted hard left from NW resulting in abandonment during the first beat to reset the course.
